Sing Songs from Joseph!!

North Dalton Village Hall

9am-12pm

Family

friendly!

Free workshop

No previous experience required.

This easy-going family-friendly workshop is for everyone! Perhaps you're already in the Am-Dram scene and you fancy strutting your stuff in one of the solo numbers? Or maybe you've always fancied a go but were a bit shy to turn up to a well-established troupe...? Or you're wondering what to do with the family on the bank holiday weekend...? Either way, you're very welcome to come and let your vocal cords rip with a bunch of friendly people.

Stan Kell will take you gently through your paces and the morning will culminate in a sharing of what you've been up to, around 11.40. Friends and family are very welcome to come along.

Your facilitator

Stan Kell is an experienced choral conductor and workshop facilitator. He started singing as a young man (he was a founder member of Hull Youth Choir) and has been MD of York St John's G&S society, assistant MD of the Sevenoaks Philharmonic, Stage Manager of Kentish Opera, and MD of Shoreham Singers. He has been involved in a number of major projects, including:

  • designing, producing and leading Adult Education Singing Courses for “non-singers”,
  • being the founding chairman and MD of Yorkshire Coast in Concert which brought together singers from 23 choirs and players from 7 orchestras for a gala performance of Messiah in the Grand Hall at the Scarborough Spa,
  • leading the community choir that welcomed the round the world clipper race back to Hull in 2010,
  • conducting several come and sing Messiah events

There will be soft drinks, tea/coffee and cakes on sale, so bring your pennies!

All our workshops are offered free of charge, but all donations are very thankfully received. Should you wish to donate, you can do so in cash on the day or via our sponsorship page
