Some of our plans & needs for 2024...

We currently spend around £12,000 per year on our projects. With this, we try to reach the most people possible in as many different ways as we can. With your help we can expand the reach and range of our projects.

Outreach project with the

Broken Orchestra

Children from contrasting environments will explore the sense of place and belonging through sampling everyday sounds, musical improvisation and the spoken word.

String Workshop

String players of all ages and abilities from across the Yorkshire & Humber region will come together at St Andrew's Church in Bainton to work with experts in their field. Free workshop

YWMF Gig Competition

This annual Battle of the Bands brings upto 8 young bands from across the region to Driffield for a fantastic evening. The winners get to perform for a fee at YWMF24.

Venue Hire

We like to mix up our venues - small/large, central/remote locations, tradtional/quirky... For 2024, we've booked churches, village halls, galleries, private homes, a Raj tent, a Cricket Ground and a farm!

Piano Hire for YWMF24

We are fortunate to have free use of a lovely piano for the duration of the Festival. Below is the cost of moving and tuning this precious instrument...

Taiko Drumming workshop

In this free workshop as part of the Musical Jamboree at the YWMF24 in May, Kaminari Taiko from York will be giving children and adults a hands-on experience of this Japanese art form.

Mystery Concert

Offered at less than cost price, this unique and special event is a wonderful way to experience music you've never heard before whilst wining and dining in the beautiful surroundings of the Old Chapel in North Dalton. A cosy musical dinner party for 10 people who start the evening as strangers and end it with new friends and a new-found appreciation for music.

Guests pay £45 for a three course meal with wine and music from world-class musicians.

Proms in the Park

The phenomenal East Riding Concert Orchestra, under the baton of Richard Grantham, will entertain and enthrall the prommers in the grounds of Driffield Cricket Club with a programme of light music from films and shows, plus some well-known classics.

The orchestra (usually costing £5,000-7,000) will not cost us a penny, but we will need to pay for sound, lighting & staging

Admin, Social Media & Marketing

In order to expand our reach we need to spread the word far and wide. We currently have very limited resources in this department and would love to hire someone with specialist arts admin/marketing experience, initially on a part-time basis
