The YWMF Gig Competition is a Battle of the Bands with a difference...
Not only is it open to bands in the whole Hull & the East Riding area, the winners get to play at the Yorkshire Wolds Music Festival in May and receive a £200 prize.
There are two rounds:
Round 1 is online, via a 5 minute demo posted to YouTube. We will choose up to a maximum of 8 bands to go through to
Round 2 - a live event in Driffield on Saturday 22nd March, 2025
We hope that you'll enter no matter how old or young you are, and no matter how long your band has been together. This is an opportunity to get up on stage, feel the buzz of performing, hear others play, learn from one another & swap experiences. Family, friends and the general public will all be able to buy tickets to the event on 22nd March, and there will be a great atmosphere.
Timings for the day will be published when the groups for the second round have been decided (around 25th February).

We're looking for a band with a great sound and stage presence.
You don't have to be on the verge of a professional career, but you do have to fit into the following criteria:
All you have to do is submit your video to YouTube and share the link with us on the entry form. If you're unsure how to do that click here for a guide. The entry fee is £20, which you will need to pay online in order to submit your application.
