Christina studied at the Purcell School and Pembroke College, Cambridge. She has taken part in masterclasses with Steven Isserlis, Alexander Baillie, Steve Doane and members of the Amadeus and Endellion Quartets.
As a chamber musician she has played on London’s South Bank, at St John’s Smith Square and at Festivals across the UK, Europe and Russia. She has given many recitals and concerto performances across the UK, and she enjoys fruitful duo partnerships with Mark Knoop (piano) and Richard Waldock (2 Waldocks, a Cello & a Double Bass). She was principal cellist of Sinfonia UK for over ten years, Kentish Opera for five years and Cameo Opera for four. As cellist of the Juventus Quartet she won the Stage 91 international chamber music competition in Barcelona.
Christina has co-created several multi-disciplinary projects, improvising and composing alongside fine artist Sumer Bašak in London, marionettist Salim Hammad in Montreal, and physical theatre director Jot-Prakash Singh in York. She has played with indie folk band, Pavey Ark and The Broken Orchestra on their project Home for the 2021 Freedom Festival. She appears on Barbara Dickson’s album For Each and Everyone, the sound track for a short shown at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival and Pavey Ark’s latest album, More Time, More Speed to be released later this year.
Christina taught for 15 years at Hull University, and she teaches in Hull for St Cuthbert's Trust. She adjudicates competitions on a regular basis and, as co-director of Hull Jam Factory, she is responsible for planning outreach projects with young people locally and throughout the UK. She is a trustee of the Yorkshire Wolds Music Foundation and artistic director of the YWMFestival.
She plays a beautiful cello made by Nigel Harris in 2004.
